It’s digital 6×6 crop. The 8-15mm Canon fisheye @ 8mm. Its a risky procedure because you’re not entirely sure what’s going to get cropped as you shoot it. Throw it in post and crop it square.
In case anyone was curious how I did this.
/me likes. I remember looking at that lens thinking this might work, $$$ though IIRC. I’d be tempted to make some guidelines on the focusing screen to aid in composing/cropping.
What’d you think of the lens? Heard there was a lot of disappointment with it.
I haven’t read any reviews on it, so judging by performance and everything else.. it’s perfect. The zoom lets me try square stuff and it’s full frame on my sequence camera. Sharpness is excellent too.
@jivcoff do you recall what people were disappointed in?
I read it on some Canon news site but who knows. Seems like a pretty awesome combo with a 5D or something.
fuck yeah! this is what i’ve been waiting to see from this lens! i think they do make focusing screens with square guidelines so that would make it a lot easier to shoot with. perfect lens though, square and 35mm framing in one camera/lens. jellin’ hard braux
