the lab i use gives scans at about 6.6 × 9.9″ (2000px x 2996px) for $10 a roll. it adds up. it’s not like they come out perfect either, so either way some CC is needed.
if any of these scanners are good, it might be worthwhile to buy one instead.
main use would be emailing, archiving, submitting, and then higher res imacons or something would be used either way when anything needed to be printed.
