Finished up a series for the skateboard mag. View it before it gets drowned out by that pizza party video with the kids from Chuck E. Cheese."
"Actually the last sequence I shot was cool, I liked it. But yes, I feel like I’m some asshole middleman that is shooting video at a shitty pace. Unless I’m getting paid to shoot it, then I don’t see the need. Especially buying a separate camera just to wear out that shutter? Then again I don’t really submit any photos anymore and don’t go shooting skating much anymore.
Anyone remember Strobeck’s Jake Johnson article in TSM? It might’ve just been a New York article, but he shot photos of his TV playing the Fakie Heelflip Jake did. Way cooler than a normal sequence, I think."
"@leej I think the 10.5 on a D3 or something is what Ryan uses."
"@leej I’m not at home to view RAW stuff, but it’s about as sharp as you can get corner to corner (I can only speak for f/8-). It’s “L” glass (whatever that means). Some purple fringing is possible, but depends on shooting situation. That fs smith photo was in complete shade."
"I understand. I felt the need to reply anyway because I thought I’d share my process. Ryan Allan does this too with Nikon stuff. Other than us two, I haven’t seen it done much/don’t know who else does it."
"I guess if I wanted to, I could add the ND filters. I’d rather not try to mimic the blad completely though."
"Here’s the EXIF

I used an angle finder, which I like a lot for more than just fisheye things. I don’t own a focus screen with guidelines. Shot @8mm."
